Caps Waive Chris Borque

Well that didn’t last very long. One day after being told he had made the roster and would start the season in the NHL, the Caps placed Chris Borque on waivers because of salary cap concerns. The team has been unable to trade Michael Nylander and his massive contract which forced this move. If Borque isn’t claimed by another team he’ll likely head to Hershey.

No Wonder the Waiting List Takes So Long

Remember that Monday night game last year when fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers were louder than fans of the Washington Redskins in a game at FedEx Field?

Remember that waiting list to get season tickets for Redskins games that the team claims has 160,000 names on it?

A story by James V. Grimaldi in the Washington Post today says that the Redskins’ front office sold tickets (you know, that thing they don’t have any of because there’s a two-decade waiting list to get them) to individual games directly to brokers. The brokers made the tickets available in secondary markets. In other words, they sold them to fans of the visiting team.
