This week, players on every NFL team dreaded meeting “the Turk” who would tell them to turn in their playbooks and have a good life — somewhere else. But the latest casualty of a Turk was … Turk Schonert, offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, who was fired Friday. This Turk was the third NFL offensive coordinator fired this week, joining Chan Gailey of the Chiefs and the Bucaneers’ Jeff Jagodzinski.

Don’t the owners and head coaches know what fans and sports writers know, that preseason games don’t matter? And don’t they know that in this economy, no one can be expected to score as much as in previous years?
