Nats One Step Closer; Reds Eliminated?

Posted by KilgoreTroutIII

As the Nats moved one step closer to winning the rights to draft The Chosen One, Bryce Harper, by losing for the seventh straight game, their three closest pursuers kept pace by dropping their games as well. But they each have one fewer game to lose. And bye-bye Ohio: the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians effectively removed themselves from the race by tripping up and winning games, falling 15.5 and 13.5 games back.

The Bryce Harper Sweepstakes Race

Posted by KilgoreTroutIII

If the Nats go 14-14 the rest of the way, they would finish 60-102. And it’s not out of the question to play .500. They were 20-21 under Jim Riggleman prior to the current six game losing streak. So, if it’s .500, and if Kansas City goes 9-20, they’d tie. Or the Reds could tie by finishing 0-29. Till a team wins the sweepstakes, we’ll post the standings. And we’ll let you know as each team drops out.
